HMPK Betta Splendens #T227

Give your freshwater aquarium a graceful focal point with this Betta splendens. Its half-moon tail opens to a distinctive 180-degree spread, while a balanced outline keeps the fins—not exaggerated body mass—in focus.

In a planted aquarium, leave open space to watch the caudal fin fan out and add a sheltered back corner for retreat. Under typical indoor lighting, its pigment remains stable, keeping the high-contrast outline easy to see.

• Room to swim: Provide an aquarium of at least 5 gallons to give your betta space to move.
• Freshwater conditions: Keep the water at 76–82°F (24–28°C) and pH 6.5–7.5, using conditioned water.
• Weekly water change: Change 25% of the water each week as part of your aquarium routine.
• Gentle filtration: Choose a sponge or hang-on-back filter on low flow to help prevent fin compression.
• Sheltered layout: Use soft substrate, dense live or artificial plants, and a curved ceramic or PVC retreat in a back corner.
• Feeding routine: Offer premium pellets or flakes twice daily, with frozen brine shrimp once a week.
• Steady placement: Keep the aquarium away from direct airflow to maintain temperature swings below one degree per hour.

Arrange the plants and retreat so the sheltered corner feels calm while the open water keeps that fan-shaped tail on display. Settle in beside the tank for a quiet pause and enjoy your betta’s graceful swim.
