Product Description

Give your aquarium a striking focal point with a half-moon Betta splendens whose tail opens into a distinctive 180-degree fan. Its balanced outline puts fin symmetry ahead of exaggerated body mass, creating a graceful silhouette to enjoy against a planted backdrop.

Place the tank where you can pause and watch the fish display its open tail. Under typical indoor lighting, its pigment remains stable, so its high-contrast outline stays easy to appreciate.

  • Room to swim: Provide an aquarium of at least 5 gallons and keep the water steadily between 76–82°F (24–28°C) to support the open caudal fin.
  • Freshwater care: Use conditioned water at pH 6.5–7.5 and change 25% each week.
  • Gentle filtration: Choose a sponge or hang-on-back filter on low flow to help prevent fin compression.
  • Sheltered layout: Add soft substrate, dense live or artificial plants, and a curved ceramic or PVC retreat in a back corner.
  • Daily feeding: Offer premium pellets or flakes twice daily, with frozen brine shrimp once a week.
  • Steady placement: Keep the aquarium away from direct airflow to maintain temperature swings below one degree per hour.

A well-planted tank with a sheltered corner gives you a calm place to settle in and enjoy the fish’s fan-shaped fins as part of your daily routine.
