Tankmates: Reef-safety varies by species: most nip soft corals, LPS, zoanthids, clam mantles, tubeworms and anemones. A few (Hemitaurichthys, some Heniochus, Chelmon with care) are kept in reefs at the owner's risk. Copperband and others eat Aiptasia.

Feeding: Getting new fish to eat is the main challenge; open clams, live black worms or fresh mussel often trigger feeding. Obligate coralivores should not be purchased.
