Tankmates: Good with other small peaceful fish that like harder water (platies, mollies, Corydoras, rasboras). Avoid fin nippers (tiger barbs, some tetras) and fish large enough to eat them. Adult shrimp are safe, but guppies eat shrimplets and their own fry.
Feeding: Small mouths - use fine foods. Some plant matter benefits them; they graze soft algae.
