Odessa barbs, also known as Pethia padamya, are a popular freshwater fish species native to the rivers of Myanmar. They are known for their striking appearance, with bright orange, black, and silver stripes on their body. Odessa barbs are relatively easy to care for and can be kept in community aquariums with other peaceful species. They are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including commercial fish flakes, algae, and small live or frozen foods.

The optimal pH level for Odessa barbs is between 6.5 and 7.5, while the ideal temperature range for their aquarium is between 72°F and 78°F. It's important to maintain stable water conditions to ensure the health and well-being of these fish. Odessa barbs can grow up to 2 inches in length and prefer a planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and open swimming areas. They are also known for their energetic and playful behavior, making them an entertaining addition to any aquarium.
