HM Betta Splendens #HM20

Add a striking Halfmoon Betta splendens to your freshwater aquarium and enjoy its dramatic, symmetrical silhouette. Its caudal fin spreads into a 180-degree fan, creating a distinctive focal point among leafy plants.

A planted, sheltered layout brings out its high-contrast outline and gives you a peaceful scene to enjoy at home. The betta’s pigment stays stable under typical indoor lighting.

• Room to swim: Provide an aquarium of at least 5 gallons and keep the water between 76–82°F (24–28°C).
• Freshwater care: Use conditioned water at pH 6.5–7.5 and change 25% of it each week.
• Gentle filtration: Choose a sponge or hang-on-back filter on low flow to help prevent fin compression.
• Sheltered layout: Add soft substrate, dense live or artificial plants, and a curved ceramic or PVC retreat in a back corner.
• Daily feeding: Offer premium pellets or flakes twice daily, with frozen brine shrimp once a week.
• Steady placement: Keep the aquarium away from direct airflow to maintain temperature swings below one degree per hour.

Arrange greenery around the retreat to create a calm, sheltered view, with the betta’s broad fan-shaped tail making a memorable detail in your aquarium.
