HM Betta Splendens #HM24

Bring a striking, graceful presence to your freshwater aquarium with a Half-moon Betta splendens. Its caudal fin fans out to a dramatic 180 degrees, while balanced fins create a distinctive, symmetrical silhouette.

Set leafy plants around a sheltered retreat to create a layered aquarium scene. The fish’s pigment stays stable under typical indoor lighting, keeping its high-contrast shape vivid as you enjoy a quiet moment at home.

• Swimming space: Provide an aquarium of at least 5 gallons, giving your betta room to move.
• Freshwater conditions: Maintain pH 6.5–7.5 and 76–82°F (24–28°C) with conditioned freshwater, and change 25% of the water each week.
• Gentle filtration: Use a sponge or hang-on-back filter on low flow to help prevent fin compression.
• Sheltered habitat: Add soft substrate, dense live or artificial plants, and a curved ceramic or PVC retreat in a back corner.
• Feeding routine: Offer premium pellets or flakes twice daily, with frozen brine shrimp once a week.
• Steady placement: Keep the aquarium away from direct airflow to maintain temperature swings below one degree per hour.

Arrange the plants around the retreat, then watch the fan-shaped fins move through their leafy surroundings.
