HM Betta Splendens #HM23

Bring a vivid focal point to your aquarium with a Half-moon Betta splendens. Its caudal fin opens into a dramatic 180-degree fan, and its balanced fins create a strikingly symmetrical shape. The pigment stays stable under typical indoor lighting, keeping the fish’s high-contrast silhouette easy to enjoy at home.

Frame its flowing fins with leafy live or artificial plants and a sheltered retreat in a back corner. This planted layout gives your betta places to swim around and settle into, adding a graceful point of interest to a quiet moment at home.

• Room to swim: Provide an aquarium of at least 5 gallons for space to move.
• Freshwater conditions: Use conditioned freshwater at pH 6.5–7.5 and 76–82°F (24–28°C), with a 25% water change each week.
• Gentle filtration: Choose a sponge or hang-on-back filter on low flow to help prevent fin compression.
• Sheltered setting: Add soft substrate, dense live or artificial plants, and a curved ceramic or PVC retreat in a back corner.
• Feeding routine: Offer premium pellets or flakes twice daily, with frozen brine shrimp once a week.
• Steady placement: Keep the aquarium away from direct airflow to maintain temperature swings below one degree per hour.

Arrange the plants around the retreat, then enjoy the distinctive fan-shaped fin moving through its leafy aquarium setting.
