Product Description

Apistogramma macmasteri is a stunning dwarf cichlid prized for its vibrant coloration and elegant finnage. Native to slow-moving rivers and tributaries of Colombia, this species displays beautiful combinations of red, orange, and electric blue hues, making it a standout centerpiece for freshwater aquariums.

Known for its relatively peaceful temperament compared to many other cichlids, Apistogramma macmasteri is ideal for planted tanks and community setups with small, non-aggressive tank mates. Males develop extended dorsal and tail fins with more intense coloration, while females exhibit subtler tones and charming yellow highlights, especially during breeding.

This species thrives in soft, slightly acidic to neutral water and appreciates aquascapes with driftwood, caves, and dense plants that mimic its natural habitat. With proper care, Apistogramma macmasteri rewards aquarists with fascinating behaviors, strong pair bonding, and attentive parental care.

Perfect for both beginner and experienced hobbyists seeking an exotic yet manageable show fish.
