Product Description

"Enhance your aquarium with Cabomba Furcata! This vibrant aquatic plant adds a pop of color and a touch of elegance to any tank."

- Overview:

- Cabomba Furcata, also known as Red Cabomba or Red Fanwort, is a stunning aquatic plant that is highly sought after for its vibrant red foliage and delicate appearance. With its feathery leaves and bushy growth, it adds a striking visual appeal to any aquarium.

- Appearance:

- Cabomba Furcata features finely dissected leaves that are reddish in color, ranging from vibrant crimson to deep burgundy. The leaves are arranged in a whorled pattern along the stem, creating an attractive and lush foliage display. The plant can grow to a height of 12 to 20 inches (30 to 50 cm), providing a captivating vertical element to the aquarium.

- Water Conditions:

- Temperature: Cabomba Furcata thrives in tropical temperatures ranging from 72°F to 82°F (22°C to 28°C).

- pH Level: It prefers slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5.

- Lighting: This plant requires moderate to high lighting levels to maintain its vibrant red coloration. Consider using LED lights or full-spectrum fluorescent tubes for optimal growth.

- Water Hardness: It can adapt to a wide range of water hardness, but a slightly soft to moderately hard water with a dGH of 4-12 is ideal.

- Water Flow: Moderate water flow is recommended to prevent debris from settling on the delicate leaves.

- Maintenance:

- Pruning: Regular pruning is necessary to maintain the desired shape and prevent overcrowding. Trim the stems with sharp scissors or aquatic pruning tools, removing any excessive growth or damaged leaves.

- Nutrient Requirements: Cabomba Furcata is a fast-growing plant that benefits from regular supplementation of nutrients. Adding a liquid fertilizer formulated for aquarium plants will help promote healthy growth and vibrant coloration.

- CO2 Injection: While not mandatory, supplementing with CO2 injection can greatly enhance the growth and overall health of Cabomba Furcata, particularly in setups with high lighting and demanding plant species.

- Substrate and Anchoring: Plant Cabomba Furcata in a nutrient-rich substrate to support its root development. Optionally, you can anchor the stems into the substrate using plant weights until the plant establishes its root system.

- Algae Control: Provide proper water circulation, maintain good water quality, and monitor nutrient levels to prevent excessive algae growth, which can hinder the growth of Cabomba Furcata.

- Compatible Fish and Tankmates:

- Cabomba Furcata is an excellent choice for community aquariums and pairs well with various fish species. Some compatible tankmates include:

- Small schooling fish like Neon Tetras, Cardinal Tetras, and Rasboras.

- Peaceful species such as Guppies, Endler's Livebearers, and Dwarf Gouramis.

- Bottom-dwelling fish like Corydoras Catfish and Otocinclus.

- Shrimp species like Cherry Shrimp and Amano Shrimp can also coexist peacefully.

- The dense foliage of Cabomba Furcata provides ample hiding places for small fish and fry, making it a popular choice for breeding setups.

- Benefits:

- Aesthetics: Cabomba Furcata adds vibrant color and a graceful presence to any aquarium, enhancing the overall visual appeal.

- Oxygenation: As a submerged plant, Cabomba Furcata aids in oxygenating the water, providing a healthier environment for fish and other aquatic inhabitants.

- Natural Habitat Simulation: The plant's appearance and coloration mimic the natural habitats of many tropical fish species, creating a more realistic and comfortable setting for them.

Whether you're an experienced aquarist or a beginner, Cabomba Furcata is a captivating aquatic plant that will elevate the beauty of your aquarium.
