Argentine Humphead (Gymnogeophagus Balzani)

Gymnogeophagus balzanii is a South American cichlid known for its distinctive head hump (nuchal hump) and unique appearance. It has a silvery body with earthy tones and subtle markings, giving it a strong, natural look that stands out in freshwater aquariums.

This species has a semi-peaceful temperament and is best kept with robust tank mates of similar size. Gymnogeophagus balzanii prefers cooler water compared to many other cichlids and thrives in well-oxygenated aquariums with sandy substrate and open swimming areas.
