HM Betta Splendens #HM33

Give your aquarium a graceful focal point with a Halfmoon Betta splendens. Its caudal fin opens into a dramatic 180-degree fan, creating the balanced, symmetrical silhouette that makes this betta distinctive.

In a planted aquarium, leafy greenery frames its high-contrast outline while a sheltered retreat creates a calm scene to enjoy at home. Its pigment stays stable under typical indoor lighting.

• Swimming space: Provide an aquarium of at least 5 gallons so your betta has room to swim.
• Warm water: Keep the temperature at 76–82°F (24–28°C) in conditioned freshwater with a pH of 6.5–7.5.
• Weekly water change: Replace 25% of the water each week to maintain its freshwater setup.
• Gentle filtration: Choose a sponge or hang-on-back filter on low flow to help prevent fin compression.
• Sheltered layout: Add soft substrate, dense live or artificial plants, and a curved ceramic or PVC retreat in a back corner.
• Daily feeding: Offer premium pellets or flakes twice daily, with frozen brine shrimp once a week.
• Steady placement: Keep the aquarium away from direct airflow to maintain temperature swings below one degree per hour.

Arrange the plants around the retreat for a leafy view and gentle movement in your everyday routine. A quiet moment beside the aquarium lets you enjoy the betta’s striking fin shape in its sheltered setting.
