HM Betta Splendens #HM22

Give your aquarium a striking focal point with a Halfmoon Betta splendens. Its caudal fin opens into a dramatic 180-degree fan, and its balanced fins create a distinctly symmetrical silhouette.

Frame the fish with leafy greenery and a sheltered retreat for a calm, planted scene. Its pigment stays stable under typical indoor lighting, making it easy to enjoy its high-contrast outline at home.

• Room to swim: Use an aquarium of at least 5 gallons and keep the water between 76–82°F (24–28°C).
• Freshwater care: Provide conditioned freshwater at pH 6.5–7.5 and change 25% of the water each week.
• Gentle filtration: Choose a sponge or hang-on-back filter on low flow to help prevent fin compression.
• Sheltered layout: Add soft substrate, dense live or artificial plants, and a curved ceramic or PVC retreat in a back corner.
• Daily feeding: Offer premium pellets or flakes twice daily, with frozen brine shrimp once a week.
• Steady placement: Keep the aquarium away from direct airflow to maintain temperature swings below one degree per hour.

Arrange plants around the retreat to create a leafy view with gentle movement. Set the aquarium where you can pause and enjoy a quiet moment at home.
