Water Conditions: The Halfmoon Nebula Stardust is a high-pH specialist, thriving in water with a pH between 7.5 and 8.2. Unlike many Betta splendens varieties that prefer slightly acidic conditions, this stardust beauty has been line-bred to excel in alkaline water. Maintain a temperature of 24–28°C (75–82°F) and a general hardness (GH) of 8–20 dGH. Ammonia and nitrite must always read zero, and nitrate should be kept below 20 ppm. Because high pH increases the toxicity of ammonia, a well-cycled, mature filter is essential. Use crushed coral, aragonite sand, or limestone rocks to naturally buffer
