It is safe for all fish and inverts, and is an aragonitic base material (does not contain cement), requires no curing, and is infused with spored, live bacteria. Once placed in water, the dormant bacteria will come alive and begin to colonize: helping to speed up the cycling process. CaribSea Life Rock is colored to simulate real coralline algae so you don`t have to wait 6-8 months for coralline algae to grow to have a mature-looking tank.

We recommend 1 to 2 lbs. of rock per gallon of aquarium water. 1 pound per gallon for a open-water landscape with more space for your fish to swim. 2 pounds per gallon for a denser landscape so you can create more caves/crevices and more area to place your corals.

Pieces range from large softball sizes up to full-size footballs, including bridges, and caves

Can I request specific shapes and sizes?

Unfortunately, we are unable to take requests for specific shapes and sizes for CaribSea LifeRock.

How much rock do I need?

Knowing exactly how much Dry Live Rock you will need can be one of the hardest questions to answer since every tank and rock will be slightly different. A general guideline for dry Live Rock, we suggest 1 pound of rock per gallon of display tank volume and may vary depending on your overall goal for the aquascape. We always recommend purchasing a little extra dry rock to ensure that you will have enough to complete the aquascape you are looking for, any extra rock can always be broken up and placed in your refugium, overflows, and sump for added filtration.

Please Note: Each box will contain a variety of rocks of different sizes and shapes. We are unable to take any special requests for rocks of a particular dimension or size. Because of the fragile nature of this rock, it is possible for the rock to break during shipment. We do our best to package the rock sufficiently to minimize damages. As Local courier company does not consider this item insurable, we are unable to replace or refund damaged pieces. It is possible to easily attach multiple pieces together using aquarium epoxy in order to make large shelves or repair damaged rock.
