Product Description

The

DoPhin CF388 Mini Canister Filter

is a compact and quiet external filter suitable for smaller aquariums, including planted, shrimp, and nano tanks. It is designed for both freshwater and saltwater use.

Key features

Compact and silent operation: Designed to hang neatly on the aquarium with low vibration and quiet performance.
Surface skimmer: Includes a 360° vortex surface skimmer to remove oil, dirt, and film from the water's surface.
Multi-stage filtration: Uses a filter medium with a sponge and a renewable charcoal block, with a portable filter chamber that is easy to access and clean.
Adjustable flow rate: The flow can be adjusted to suit the specific needs of your aquarium.
Easy maintenance: Features a "hang-on" accessory and a quick and easy disconnect system for straightforward cleaning.
Water circulation: A rain bar output helps enhance oxygenation and create water movement.

The

DoPhin CF388

is a good choice for beginners and hobbyists with small tanks, particularly those with smaller, calmer fish.

Recommended for: Tetras, guppies, mollies, platies, swordtails, bettas, dwarf cichlids, shrimp, and snails.
Not suitable for: Large or "messy" fish like goldfish or arowana, unless used as a supplementary filter.

Like other canister filters, some potential issues can arise, but many are simple to address.

Leaks: Leaks can be caused by a broken valve block, improper installation of hoses, or a dried-out or faulty O-ring.
- Solution: Ensure the O-rings are properly lubricated and positioned. If the problem persists, the seal or valve block may need replacement.
Noisy operation: A rattling sound from the filter is often caused by a broken or dislodged impeller.
- Solution: Unplug the filter, check the impeller for damage, and reseat it properly.
Stopped working or making bubbles: This is often due to an air lock caused by air bubbles getting stuck in the intake tube.
- Solution: Unplug the filter and re-prime it by filling it with water. You can also slowly tilt the filter on its side to shift the air bubble.
