Care & setup for best results

Hoplisoma sp. Rio Tomo CW217 Concolour thrive in a stable, well-balanced aquarium. Prioritize gentle, consistent water conditions and a habitat rich in plant matter and biofilm. Keep copper- and metal-based medications away, as these can be harmful to shrimp. A lightly planted tank with hiding spots—moss, driftwood, and small caves—helps reduce stress and encourages natural grazing behavior.

Diet, feeding, and daily routine

• Feeding: offer small portions of high-quality shrimp pellets or wafers, supplemented with blanched vegetables and biofilm-rich surfaces to support the shrimp’s natural grazing habit.
• Feeding cadence: provide tiny, multiple feedings per day in line with your tank’s bioload to avoid excess waste and maintain water quality.
• Supplemental benefits: as they graze, Hoplisoma sp. Rio Tomo CW217 Concolour help keep microalgae and film on leaves in check, contributing to a cleaner, more balanced habitat.

Tank mates and compatibility

These shrimp are best kept with peaceful, small tank mates in a community or species-tank setting. They do well alongside other calm invertebrates and non-paria fish that don’t view them as food. For optimal behavior, avoid aggressive or serrated fish that might harass or prey on shrimp.

Ideal use cases and who this is for

• Ideal for nano tanks and densely planted displays where their small size and active grazing shine without crowding the space.
• Perfect for advanced beginners to seasoned hobbyists who value reliable color morphs and a distinctive Rio Tomo lineage.
• A great addition to aquascapes that emphasize naturalistic grazing, subtle movement, and biodiversity.
