Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish are known for their distinct red coloration and stunning finnage.

Let's explore the world of Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish and discover their ideal water conditions, compatible tank mates, feeding habits, and essential care guidelines.

Ideal Water Conditions:

✦Temperature: Maintain the water temperature between 76°F and 82°F (24°C - 28°C) for optimal health and activity.

✦pH Level: Keep the pH level slightly acidic to neutral, ideally between 6.0 and 7.5, to replicate their natural habitat.

✦Water Hardness: Soft to moderately hard water (5-15 dGH) is suitable for Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish.

✦Provide efficient filtration and perform regular water changes to maintain excellent water quality.

Tank Mates:

✦ Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish are relatively peaceful but can be territorial, especially during breeding.

✦It's best to keep them in a species-only setup or with other small, peaceful fish that can tolerate their territorial behavior.

✦Compatible tank mates include small tetras, rasboras, peaceful dwarf cichlids, or non-aggressive catfish species.

✦Avoid housing them with fin-nipping or aggressive fish that may cause stress or harm.

Feeding Habits:

✦Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish are omnivorous and have a diverse diet.

✦Offer them a varied diet consisting of high-quality flakes or pellets as a staple food source.

✦Supplement their diet with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, daphnia, or small insects.

✦Feed them small portions 2-3 times a day, ensuring they consume the food within a few minutes.

Care Requirements:

✦Provide a well-planted aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and caves for Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish to establish territories and seek shelter.

✦Maintain excellent water quality through regular water changes (approximately 20% every 1-2 weeks) and proper filtration.

✦Test the water parameters regularly to ensure they remain within the suitable range for Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish.

✦Avoid sudden changes in water parameters, as these can cause stress and negatively impact their health.

✦Monitor their behavior for signs of stress, disease, or aggression, and promptly address any issues that arise.

✦Offer them a balanced diet and consider providing occasional treats of live or frozen foods to simulate their natural feeding behaviors.

✦Breeding Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish can be rewarding, but it requires specific conditions and careful monitoring of water parameters.

✦Handle them with care during maintenance, as they can be delicate and have sensitive finnage.

In conclusion, Apisto Agassizzi Double Red fish are a stunning addition to any aquarium. Their vibrant colors, unique finnage, and intriguing behavior make them a captivating choice for aquarists.
