Benefits of N30 Bio Balls

Bio Balls are used for biological filtration. The greatest advantage that bio balls have over other types of biological media is that the surface of bio balls do not clog up (when used with a prefilter) as opposed to those micropores of ceramic biological media.

The unique grooves design on each N30 Bio-Ball ensures that anything that could potentially clog up that space would already have been washed away or filtered out by the prefilter (such as filter wool, sponge etc). This is why in aquarium filtration, water should always pass through a prefilter first before reaching the biofilter media.
