Also known as the japanese fighting fish, this species prefer calm water with a pH between 6.8 and 7.5. While they may seem to tolerate cooler temperatures, they will be inactive and more susceptible to disease, therefore it's best for their overall health to keep the temperature between 76° and 85° F.
Water Hardness: Keep the water hardness between 5 and 20 dGH (degrees of general hardness).

Tank Setup:

Tank Size: Provide a minimum tank size of 5 gallons for a single Long Tail Betta. Larger tanks are recommended for multiple Bettas or community setups.
Filtration: Install a gentle filtration system to maintain water quality without creating strong currents that can stress the fish.
Decorations: Add live or artificial plants, rocks, and caves to create hiding spots and mimic the natural habitat of the Long Tail Betta.
Lighting: Provide moderate lighting, preferably with adjustable intensity, to simulate a day-night cycle for the fish.

Tank Mates:

Betta Compatibility: Due to their territorial nature, Long Tail Bettas are best kept alone. Male Bettas, in particular, are prone to aggressive behavior towards other males.
Community Tank: If you wish to house Long Tail Bettas with other fish, carefully select peaceful, non-nipping species such as small tetras, rasboras, or peaceful catfish. Always monitor the interactions and be ready to separate any aggressive tank mates.

Feeding Habits:

Betta Diet: Long Tail Bettas are carnivorous and thrive on a diet primarily consisting of high-quality Betta pellets or flakes. Supplement their diet with frozen or live foods like bloodworms, daphnia, and brine shrimp.
Feeding Frequency: Feed your Betta small portions two to three times a day, ensuring they consume the food within a few minutes to prevent overeating and water quality issues.

Care and Maintenance:

Water Changes: Perform regular water changes of 25% to 50% every week to maintain optimal water conditions and remove accumulated toxins.
Water Testing: Regularly test the water parameters using a reliable aquarium test kit to ensure the health and well-being of your Long Tail Betta.
Observation: Monitor your Betta's behavior, appetite, and overall appearance daily to detect any signs of illness or stress.
Disease Prevention: Maintain good hygiene in the tank, provide a balanced diet, and avoid overcrowding to reduce the risk of diseases. Quarantine new fish before introducing them to the tank.

Red or blue Colors will be picked at random.
