Feeding: Insectivores/micropredators. Overfeeding is a common cause of bloat and poor water quality. Wild-caught fish may need live or frozen food before accepting pellets.

This category collects the bettas that don't fit neatly into FishyHub's main variety pages. Here you may find combtails, rosetails, traditional ikan laga kampung, mixed-fin hybrids and less common wild species. If you're hunting for something a little different from the usual halfmoon or plakat, it's worth a browse.
All listings come from Malaysian breeders, hobbyists and aquarium shops, with prices in RM. Because this is a mixed category, read each listing carefully to see exactly which betta you're getting.
Combtails have partial webbing, a look somewhere between a crowntail and a halfmoon. Rosetails have so much ray branching that the fin edges ruffle like petals. Both have long fins and prefer calm water. Crowntails have their own category.
Traditional short-finned fighters, usually darker in colour and very hardy. They're affordable and bring back memories for many Malaysians who kept ikan laga in jars as kids.
Crosses between varieties or between domestic and wild-type bettas. They can be beautiful, but don't usually breed true, so they're best bought as pets.
From time to time, sellers list wild species that don't have their own category. Wild bettas often need softer, cleaner and sometimes cooler water than domestic types. Malaysia has around 28 native betta species, several of them endangered, so always choose captive-bred fish.
Needs vary by type, so treat this as a starting point and check the individual listing.
| Care point | Domestic bettas | Wild species |

| Temperament | Males fight; one per tank | Varies; some kept in pairs |
| Diet | Betta pellets plus frozen treats | Mostly live and frozen foods |
| Beginner-friendly? | Yes | Usually for experienced keepers |
Because "other betta" covers many types, the listing details are especially important:
Ordinary bettas can cost as little as RM5–10, while rare wild species and selected fish cost more. If you're in Sabah or Sarawak, ask the seller about live delivery before ordering.
Not hard, but their heavy, ruffled fins tear easily and slow them down, so use smooth decor and gentle flow.
It's not recommended. Different species can fight or hybridise, so keep one species per tank.
