"Enhance your aquarium with the vibrant beauty of Red Severum. Discover their stunning colors and peaceful temperament for your tank."

Detailed Description:

-Water Conditions: Red Severums thrive in a tropical freshwater environment with temperatures ranging from 75°F to 82°F (24°C to 28°C). They prefer a pH level between 6.0 and 7.5 and moderately hard water with a dGH of 5 to 15.

-Tank Size and Setup: These beautiful fish require a spacious tank of at least 55 gallons to ensure their comfort and well-being. Provide ample hiding places with the help of rocks, driftwood, and live plants, as this mimics their natural habitat in South America.

-Tank Mates: Red Severums are generally peaceful but can display territorial behavior during breeding periods. Ideal tankmates include other peaceful South American cichlids like angelfish, keyhole cichlids, or geophagus species. Avoid aggressive or fin-nipping species to prevent stress and injuries.

-Feeding Habits: Red Severums are omnivorous, which means they enjoy a varied diet. Offer them a combination of high-quality flakes or pellets as a staple diet. Supplement their meals with live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and small insects to provide them with essential nutrients and enhance their coloration.

-Care and Maintenance: Regular water changes are crucial to maintain optimal water quality for Red Severums. Aim for a weekly water change of around 20%. Monitor water parameters regularly using a test kit and adjust as necessary. Keep an eye out for any signs of disease or stress, such as loss of appetite, abnormal behavior, or fin deterioration, and address these issues promptly.

-Breeding Behavior: Red Severums are known to be excellent parents. They form monogamous pairs and often exhibit intriguing behaviors while preparing to spawn. Provide them with flat surfaces or large rocks for potential spawning sites. The parents will guard and care for their fry, ensuring their survival.

-Coloration and Temperament: As their name suggests, Red Severums boast stunning red coloration along their body, which intensifies during breeding. Their temperament varies from peaceful to slightly territorial, depending on their individual personality and tankmates. Ensure adequate space and suitable tankmates to minimize aggression.

-Health and Longevity: With proper care, Red Severums can live up to 10 years or even longer. Providing a well-balanced diet, maintaining optimal water conditions, and offering a stress-free environment will contribute to their overall health and longevity.

-Adding Red Severums to Your Aquarium: Before adding Red Severums to your tank, make sure you have completed the nitrogen cycle and established a stable aquarium environment. Quarantine new fish before introducing them to your existing tankmates to prevent the spread of diseases. Acclimate them slowly to avoid shock, and observe their behavior closely during the adjustment period.

The Beauty of Red Severums: Red Severums are not only captivating to look at, but they also bring a sense of tranquility to your aquarium. Their vibrant coloration and peaceful nature make them a popular choice among aquarists looking to add a touch of elegance and grace to their aquatic landscapes. Enjoy the beauty and serenity they bring to your underwater world.
