Vibrant Aesthetics: The Banded Eel exhibits a striking combination of contrasting colors, featuring bold bands across its sleek body, ranging from deep blacks to vibrant yellows and whites.

Ideal Size: Growing up to 24 inches in length, this eel is well-suited for medium to large aquariums. Ensure your tank provides ample space for unhindered movement, allowing the eel to showcase its natural behaviors.

Water Conditions:

Temperature: Maintain a stable temperature between 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C).

Best Companions: Suitable tank mates include peaceful community fish, larger non-aggressive species, and other eels of similar size.

Feeding Habits:

Carnivorous Diet: Banded Eels are carnivores, and their diet should consist of high-quality frozen or live foods. Offer a variety of options such as shrimp, squid, and small fish.

Feeding Frequency: Feed adult eels 2-3 times per week, adjusting the quantity based on individual appetite and growth.

Care Guidelines:

Adequate Hiding Spaces: Provide plenty of hiding spots, like caves or PVC pipes, to create a secure environment for the eel.

Secure Lid: Due to their curious nature, it's crucial to have a tightly secured lid on the aquarium to prevent escapes.

Regular Monitoring: Regularly monitor water parameters and perform routine water changes to ensure a clean and stable environment.

Behavior and Maintenance:

Nocturnal Behavior: Banded Eels are primarily nocturnal, so expect them to be more active during the evening.
