Pro Reef Air Skimz - ( Color changing Co2 carbon dioxide absorbent )

 

Pro Reef Air Skimz Is a Color Changing CO2 Absorbent which contains a special Zeolite to reduce the risk of drying out which results in media lasting longer. Uniform shape media allowed more air flow. Changes from pink to Purple as media is depleted.

Pro Reef Air Skimz has the following features

• The unique manufacturing process used to produce our product ensures that the dust content of the product is significantly lower than other soda limes
• Replace media when it turns purple or PH of the tank begins to drop. Please note that the color change is gradual and the media will get darker over time as it is depleted.

Commonly use together with Protein skimmer to help bring up the PH level of marine aquarium tank. Our soda lime has the following features not available in standard soda lime.

 

 

C02 Scrubber is commonly used in the aquarium industry to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the air before it is injected into a protein skimmer. This will raise the pH of your tank and help you reach or get closer to the 8.3 which every reefer desires. Pro Reef Air Skimz is particularly helpful if you are running a calcium reactor or live in a tightly sealed house. This is pretty much the only way to continually maintain an elevated pH without affecting calcium and alkalinity levels.

Why is PH level important in a Reef Tank ?

Maintaining a proper PH level of a reef aquarium significantly impacts the health and welfare of the organisms in a Reef tank. Excessively low pH in a Reef tank makes it hard for calcifying organisms to deposit calcium carbonate skeletons. At a low enough pH, the skeletons will actually begin to dissolve which resulting in STN/ RTN of some stony SPS corals.

Instructions for use.

1) Fill cartridge with Pro Reef C02 Scrubber

2) Add one teaspoon of water to the bottom of the filter canister (not the cartridge). Do not get the air skimz wet.

3) Connect to the air intake of your skimmer.

4) Replace media when it turns from Pink to White or when PH of the tank begins to drop. Please note that the colour change is gradual and the media will get lighter over time as it is depleted.

5) Always store unused portion soda lime in an air / watertight container
