Tankmates: Any fish that fits in the mouth will be eaten. Commonly kept with large bottom and mid-water fish such as large plecos, stingrays, datnoids, large catfish and clown knifefish in very large tanks. Avoid other surface-dwelling predators and fin-nippers.
Feeding: Surface feeders that take insects and food from the surface. Varied diet of quality pellets, insects and prawn is better than feeder fish, which carry disease and are low in nutrition. Avoid fatty foods (beef heart, excessive mealworms) as staples.
