Product Description

"Introducing the Myleus Lamax - a stunning addition to your aquarium! Enhance your aquatic paradise with this vibrant and active fish."

Detailed description in bullet points (more than 500 words):

- The Myleus Lamax, also known as the Black-barred Myleus, is a visually striking fish that will captivate any aquarium enthusiast. With its vibrant coloration and energetic behavior, this species is a perfect addition to your aquatic paradise.

- Originating from the Amazon River basin, the Myleus Lamax thrives in warm and soft water conditions. To provide the optimal habitat for these beautiful fish, maintain a temperature range of 75-82°F (24-28°C) and a pH level between 6.0 and 7.5. The water hardness should be kept in the soft to moderately hard range, around 5-15 dGH.

- When it comes to tank size, the Myleus Lamax requires a spacious environment to accommodate its active nature. A minimum tank size of 75 gallons (284 liters) is recommended, allowing the fish plenty of room to swim and explore. Providing ample hiding spots through the use of driftwood, rocks, and vegetation is essential to make them feel secure.

- While the Myleus Lamax is a peaceful fish, it is best to keep them in a species-specific aquarium or with similarly sized and peaceful tank mates. Avoid keeping them with aggressive or fin-nipping species, as the Myleus Lamax has delicate fins. Suitable tank mates include other peaceful community fish like tetras, angelfish, or peaceful catfish species.

- As omnivores, the Myleus Lamax has a versatile diet. A combination of high-quality flakes or pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods, will provide them with the necessary nutrition. Offer them a variety of foods, including brine shrimp, bloodworms, and vegetable matter such as spirulina-based flakes or blanched spinach. Regular feeding should be done two to three times a day, providing an amount that they can consume within a few minutes.

- Maintenance and care for the Myleus Lamax involve regular water changes to maintain water quality. Aim for a 20-30% water change every two weeks to keep nitrate levels low and maintain optimal water conditions. Ensure the filtration system is efficient enough to handle the bioload of the tank, as the Myleus Lamax is an active fish that produces a moderate amount of waste.

- Pay attention to the overall health of the fish by observing their behavior, appetite, and physical appearance. A healthy Myleus Lamax will display active swimming, vibrant coloration, and a hearty appetite. If any signs of illness or distress are noticed, promptly address them by consulting a knowledgeable aquarium professional or veterinarian.

- With proper care and attention, the Myleus Lamax can live up to 10 years in captivity. Their captivating appearance, peaceful nature, and energetic behavior make them an excellent choice for intermediate to advanced aquarists looking to add a touch of vibrancy to their aquarium. Dive into the fascinating world of the Myleus Lamax and create an aquatic haven that will mesmerize both you and your guests.
