Black Orange Dorsal cichlids, also known as BOD cichlids or Otopharynx lithobates, are a visually striking species native to Lake Malawi. Males are known for their dark blue/black bodies with a vibrant orange streak running from their nose to their dorsal fin, which gives them their name. Females have a more muted gray coloration with dark blotches and vertical bars.
