Tank mates: Small, peaceful species like hatchetfish, lampeyes, corydoras catfish, and small loricariids (a type of South American suckermouth catfish), as these occupy different water levels and won't outcompete them for food. It's best to avoid aggressive or overly active fish. You can also keep them in a species-only tank.
