Orange shrimp, also known as Orange Sakura Shrimp, are a freshwater dwarf shrimp species highly sought after for their striking orange coloration. They are a selectively bred variant of the Cherry Shrimp (Neocaridina heteropoda), and are native to Asia. These shrimp are relatively easy to care for and are peaceful in nature, making them an excellent choice for a planted aquarium. They require a well-maintained aquarium with stable water parameters and a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5. Orange shrimp are omnivorous and should be fed a varied diet consisting of algae, biofilm, and commercially available shrimp pellets. They are known to be excellent scavengers and can help keep the aquarium clean. With proper care, orange shrimp can live for 1-2 years in captivity.
