Malaysian driftwood is the root/trunk section of ebony trees found in dense forest of Malaysia where the trees are indigenous. This random assortment of trunk pieces are dense, dark and irregular shaped. The colour of the wood is dark brown with black streaks. Malaysian wood is a popular choice for aquariums because, unlike other types of driftwood, Malaysian wood will instantly sink. Not only is Malaysian wood aesthetically striking but it also provides a number of benefits to both the enclosure as well as its inhabitants.
