Malawi Eyebiter (Dimidiochromis compressiceps) is one of Lake Malawi’s most fascinating predator cichlids. Renowned for its elongated body and stealth hunting technique, this species ambushes prey with lightning speed, earning its “Eyebiter” nickname.

Adult males develop striking metallic blue or green coloration with silver undertones, while females are more subdued, blending into sandy and rocky environments. Eyebiters thrive in spacious aquariums with sandy substrates and open swimming areas that allow them to display natural hunting behaviors.
