They are a selectively bred variant of the more common Blue Ram, featuring longer and more flowing fins. Long Fin Balloon Rams are native to South America, specifically the Orinoco River basin, and are popular among aquarists due to their striking appearance and calm temperament. They typically have a blue body with yellow highlights, and their fins can range from white to yellow or even red. Long Fin Balloon Rams are relatively easy to care for and do best in a planted aquarium with a pH between 6.0-7.5 and a temperature range of 78-85°F. They are omnivorous and should be fed a balanced diet of flake, pellet, and frozen foods. With proper care, Long Fin Balloon Rams can live up to 3-4 years.
