  1. Origin: The Electric Blue Ram is native to the Orinoco River basin in South America, not Germany. The confusion might arise from its common name rather than its actual habitat.

  2. Appearance: These fish are small and have a distinctive bright blue coloration with yellow accents on their fins and face. They have a compact and laterally compressed body shape, making them attractive additions to aquariums.

  3. Habitat: In their natural habitat, Electric Blue Rams inhabit slow-moving, warm waters with plenty of vegetation, submerged branches, and roots. In an aquarium setting, they prefer a well-planted tank with hiding spots.

  4. Tank Requirements: Electric Blue Rams require a tank with stable water conditions. The water temperature should be maintained between 78-85°F (25-29°C), and the pH level should be slightly acidic to neutral. A tank size of at least 20 gallons is recommended for a pair.

  5. Diet: These fish are omnivores, and their diet should include a mix of high-quality pellets, flakes, and live or frozen foods like brine shrimp and bloodworms.

  6. Behavior: Electric Blue Rams are generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially during breeding. It's advisable to keep them in pairs and provide hiding spots and visual barriers to reduce aggression.

  7. Breeding: Breeding Electric Blue Rams can be challenging, but with proper conditions, they may spawn in the aquarium. The parents are known for being good caretakers of their fry. Breeding pairs should be provided with suitable flat surfaces for egg laying.
