the water condition of their aquarium must always be soft and only slightly acidic. Glass Knifefish respond quickly to the changes in the water condition. Therefore, you will need a high-quality filter to keep the water of their aquarium fresh.

Any type of effective filter is suitable to keep the water clean. But because Eigenmannia virescens are native to moving bodies of freshwater, we suggest you use a filter with a powerhead as the extra current will replicate their natural living conditions.

It is recommended that you perform frequent tests on the aquarium water and monitor the pH levels remain between 6 and 7 regularly. A 30 – 50 percent of water change every week is also very strongly suggested as it will help keep the water conditions conducive to Glass Knifefish’s growth and wellness.
