The Horseman's Cory Catfish (Corydoras eques) is one of the most coveted, but rare Corydoras species, especially when it comes to tank-bred specimens. It develops increasingly bright orange coloration along its gills and back as it matures.
Tank size: Provide a tank with a minimum capacity of 20 gallons (75 liters) for a small group of Corydoras eques.
Water parameters: Maintain a temperature range of 72-78°F (22-26°C) and a pH level between 6.0 and 7.5. The water should be clean and well-filtered.
Tank setup: Include plants, caves, and driftwood for hiding spots. Use a sandy substrate to mimic their natural habitat.
Diet : high-quality flake or pellet food, as well as live or frozen foods like bloodworms or brine shrimp.
Tankmates: Keep them in a peaceful community tank with other small, non-aggressive fish species.
Maintenance: Perform regular water changes of around 25% every two weeks to maintain good water quality.
Observation: Monitor their behavior and appearance regularly to detect any signs of illness or stress.
