Bolbitis difformis is a relatively stable and easy plant to maintain, making it loved by beginners and aquascaping experts. They are comparable to Bucephalandras, Anubias, and Crypts. 
 
Bolbitis difformis has fern leaves that range from light to dark green with varying levels of light. With minimal light, the plant will grow slowly and show a deep green color. When given more light, the leaves will turn a lighter, sometimes transparent green and grow slightly faster.
 
Overtime, Bolbitis can grow up to 16-18 inches if properly cared for, though this may take a while. 
It is generally considered a slow growing fern that can be grown submerged or emersed.
