The Balloon Pearl Gourami, also known as the Balloon Kissing Gourami, is a popular freshwater fish species that originates from Southeast Asia. They are a variation of the Pearl Gourami, and are characterized by their round, balloon-like body shape. These fish have a stunning coloration with a pearlescent sheen that ranges from silver to pale pink or gold, and they have distinct iridescent markings on their fins. Balloon Pearl Gouramis are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive fish in a community tank. They prefer densely planted aquariums with plenty of hiding spots and peaceful surroundings. These fish are omnivorous and will thrive on a varied diet of flake food, frozen or live foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. Balloon Pearl Gouramis are relatively hardy and can live up to five years in captivity with proper care.
