Tank mates: It is advisable to keep an Albino Protopterus lungfish in a single-species aquarium. This is chiefly because they are super rare and expensive so you don't them killed or damaged in fights with other or similar species, and also because they are unpredictable and can become aggressive, even towards other large, fast-moving fish that would otherwise seem suitable. While some hobbyists have tried keeping them with robust species like birchirs, characins, and cichlids, lungfish have a tendency to suddenly turn on their tankmates. They are also intolerant of other lungfish in their environment.
