  1. Check water stability. Most zoa keepers aim for 76–80°F (24–27°C), salinity of 1.025–1.026 specific gravity, alkalinity around 7–10 dKH and low but detectable nitrate and phosphate. Ultra-low nutrients are a common reason zoas shrink or fade.
